Key Responsibilities
As a Pipe TIG Welder, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welds that meet strict project specifications. Your core duties will include:
- Reading and accurately interpreting complex project plans, blueprints, and diagrams to determine welding requirements.
- Performing precision Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) for field installations, including ductwork, vents, metal sheeting, and other critical components.
- Selecting the appropriate welding materials and fillers based on project needs and your expert judgment.
- De-burring, grinding, and finishing metal surfaces to achieve the required texture and prepare for welding.
- Coordinating effectively with field labor crews to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
- Conserving materials and resources to support project budgets and client satisfaction.
- Taking full personal responsibility for maintaining a safe worksite by strictly adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly qualified journeyman welder with proven experience. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of three (3) or more years of verifiable Journeyman Welding experience.
- High proficiency in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) is required. Additional skills in Shielded Metal Arc (STICK) or Flux Cored Arc Welding (FLUX) are strongly preferred.
- The ability to read and visualize layouts from complex blueprints and plans.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- A strong understanding of mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively and work on project sites nationwide for extended periods.
- Required to provide and maintain your own basic hand tools (hammers, grinders, hood, gloves, clamps, etc.).
- Preferred certifications include: OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification, a TWIC card, and industrial machine licenses (e.g., forklift).
