Key Responsibilities
You’ll be the heartbeat of our Albury yard operations, ensuring every machine that comes in or goes out meets the high standards our customers expect.
- Take hands-on ownership of the entire on-hire and off-hire process, ensuring every piece of equipment is inspected, prepped, and presented to a faultless standard before it leaves the yard
- Conduct thorough mechanical inspections prior to hire, identifying any issues and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety requirements
- Manage yard space efficiently and safely, maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organisation to enable smooth equipment throughput
- Identify and assess damages on returning equipment, accurately following the damages process to ensure chargeable items—cleaning, fuel, missing parts are properly logged
- Liaise confidently with internal hire and sales teams, as well as external transport providers and stakeholders, to coordinate logistics and confirm all delivery details
- Operate HR-class vehicles to assist with machinery transport as required, and move equipment safely around the yard
- Drive continuous improvement, contributing ideas and supporting a harmonious, solutions-focused team culture
- Participate in staff training and provide additional support to the Hire and Sales Teams when needed
Qualifications
We’re looking for a seasoned yard professional who brings both experience and the right attitude.
You must have:
- Minimum 2–3+ years in a similar rental yard coordination or machine care role within the earthmoving, equipment hire, or heavy transport industry
- Solid basic mechanical knowledge of earthmoving equipment you know what to look for and can spot issues before they become problems
- A current, unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence, with genuine willingness to assist with transporting machinery as required
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven team environment
- Basic computer literacy, including confidence using tablets/iPads for inspections and reporting
- Impeccable attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external customers
It’s highly desirable if you have:
- A current forklift licence held for more than 12 months
- Familiarity with a wide range of earthmoving equipment brands and attachments
- Experience with ERP systems for logging inspection results
