TIG Welder Wanted In Singapore

We are looking for a skilled Welder with at least two years of manufacturing experience and a strong command of TIG welding. You will be working on components that require precision, traceability, and conformance to engineering drawings. This is not structural ironwork or general fabrication. It is component-level welding for an industry where quality is not optional. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG, MIG, and Stick welding operations to join and fabricate metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and welding procedure specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings to determine joint configurations, material thickness, and weld sequence.
  • Conduct visual inspection of completed welds to verify penetration, bead profile, fusion, and freedom from surface defects.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment including power sources, wire feeders, torches, and gas regulators.
  • Select appropriate filler metals, shielding gases, and tungsten electrodes based on base material and specified procedure.
  • Operate cutting torches and plasma arc equipment for beveling, gouging, and material preparation as required.
  • Monitor consumable inventory and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors or materials planning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in compliance with 5S and company housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay current with advancements in welding technology, filler metals, and process techniques.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations requiring immediate physical action.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment.
  • Valid technical certificate in welding from a recognized institution or trade school.
  • Strong proficiency in TIG welding process this is the primary process used in our manufacturing line.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols with accuracy.
  • Competent use of hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
  • Working knowledge of various welding rods, filler metals, shielding gases, and their appropriate applications.
  • Understanding of basic quality requirements, including weld profile, penetration, and defect recognition.
  • Experience using oxy-fuel cutting torches and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Knowledge of appropriate preheat and interpass temperatures for special materials and alloy groups.
  • Physical capacity to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 kilograms, and respond quickly in emergency situations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in MIG welding processes is a strong advantage.
  • Prior work experience in oil and gas, pressure equipment, or critical service component manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, or equivalent welding codes.
