Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Services Manager, you will play a key role in upholding our high standards of care and hygiene. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Thoroughly cleaning and preparing guest rooms, communal apartments, kitchens, and common areas to ensure a pristine and welcoming environment.
  • Building warm, supportive, and cooperative relationships with families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Performing basic equipment maintenance and managing cleaning supplies and linen stock.
  • Completing associated administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of housekeeping operations.
  • Working as part of a close-knit team on a rotating roster between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

We are looking for compassionate individuals who align with our mission. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A caring, empathetic nature and a genuine desire to support families in need.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and a respectful, discreet manner.
  • Prior cleaning experience is preferred, but a willingness to learn and maintain high standards is essential.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to be a supportive team player.
  • The physical fitness to carry out a range of cleaning duties.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the full employment period.
  • Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory NZ Police Vetting. We also recommend being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to protect our vulnerable families.
