Here is an opportunity to serve your community as a Motor Grader Operator with Butler County, Nebraska. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining a specific group of gravel and dirt roads, ensuring they meet county specifications. Your duties will include ordering gravel, clearing snow and debris, maintaining drainage, and keeping roadsides clear of trees and brush. You will be assigned a motor grader and be responsible for its tires, edges, general maintenance, and cleanliness. The wage is negotiable based on experience, starting from $20.00 per hour. What You Will Be Doing
- Maintain assigned gravel and dirt roads to county specifications.
- Order gravel as needed and ensure proper application.
- Clear snow, debris, and obstructions from roads.
- Maintain drainage structures and report any issues with signs or drainage.
- Keep roadsides clean of trees, brush, and other obstructions.
- Take responsibility for your assigned motor grader, including tires, edges, general maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Assist county-wide on all crews with different tasks as requested by supervisor or foreman, provided you have had training on the specific job.
- Report any problems that may jeopardize public safety as soon as possible to the supervisor or foreman.
- Ensure any safety hazards are flagged and/or barricaded until effective repair is done.
- Your duties will be checked periodically by a supervisor or foreman.

- Experience operating a motor grader or similar heavy equipment.
- Reliable and safety-focused with attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to assist with a variety of tasks across different crews.
- Good communication skills to report safety issues promptly.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
