Advantage Personnel is currently looking for a Machine Operator to join a metal fabrication facility in Scarborough, near Kennedy Road and Finch Avenue. This role is all about supporting production activities operating equipment, handling materials, assisting with paint prep, and helping out with custom fabrication tasks. What You’ll Be Doing
- Running machinery: You’ll operate equipment and metalworking presses as part of the production process.
- Working in the spray booth: You’ll assist with paint preparation and spray application, making sure finishes meet quality standards.
- Supporting production: You’ll help out with general shop floor tasks and custom fabrication work as needed throughout the day.
- Managing materials: You’ll help keep material flow moving and assist with inventory organization so everything stays where it should be.
- Handling paint prep and finishing: You’ll prepare surfaces for painting and help with finishing tasks to get products ready for customers.
- Lifting and moving: You’ll regularly lift up to 50 pounds as part of your daily tasks.
- Keeping the shop clean: You’ll maintain a tidy work area and make sure hazards are addressed quickly.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a shop or manufacturing role you should already be familiar with how production environments work.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials throughout your shift.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Willingness to learn multiple aspects of custom metal fabrication we’re looking for people who want to grow their skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic shifts start at 7:00 AM, and we need people who show up ready to work.
- Comfort with shop environments including exposure to production equipment and materials. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
