Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the full debtor ledger, including chasing overdue accounts via phone, email, and other channels to ensure timely collections.
- Hunt through the CRM to identify and extract relevant project manager and contact details for follow-up on outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile payments against invoices, investigate discrepancies, and allocate receipts accurately.
- Use the accounting package for daily transaction processing, reporting, and debtor analysis.
- Monitor ageing reports, escalate issues, and maintain accurate records of all credit activities.
- Liaise with internal project teams and external customers to resolve payment queries and disputes efficiently.
- Support month-end processes, including debtor reconciliations and provision calculations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of credit control procedures and reporting.
- Work closely with project and sales teams to ensure alignment on customer accounts.
- Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring timely payments.
Qualifications
- Experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role, with a proven track record of effective debtor management and collections.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in making outbound calls to build rapport and resolve issues.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and accounting software packages.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with sales, project, and finance teams.
- Preferably have exposure to project-based or construction-related invoicing environments.
- Hold valid working rights in New Zealand.
