Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for performing a range of welding and metal fabrication tasks to meet our quality standards. Your duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide your work.
- Operating manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding and flame-cutting equipment.
- Examining finished welds to ensure they meet all required standards and specifications.
- Fitting, brazing, and straightening metal components as required.
- Operating metal shaping machinery such as brakes and shears.
- Performing minor maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.
- Handling materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a solid foundation and a willingness to learn. Requirements include:
- A Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate.
- 1 to 7 months of welding experience is an asset, but a strong aptitude and attitude are most important.
- The ability to interpret welding specifications and blueprints.
- Physical capability to handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs-23 kg), stand for extended periods, and work in a demanding environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence, own transportation, and be willing to travel as needed.
- Must have your own basic personal safety equipment (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, welding helmet).
- Personal suitability traits: punctual, hardworking, organised, flexible, and a strong team player.
