Key Responsibilities
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently to meet project goals.
- Operate Motor Graders, Dozers, and Trackhoes, including equipment with GPS Trimble systems.
- Perform civil construction tasks according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the construction team to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Adapt to changing technology and updates, maintaining proficiency with new systems.
- Follow all company policies, safety rules, and procedures.
- Work various shifts, including nights and weekends, in any weather condition as required.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for an experienced operator with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the physical stamina to meet job demands.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience, including Motor Graders, Dozers, and Trackhoes.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education providing equivalent background.
- 21+ years of age.
- Ability to keep up with changing technology and equipment updates.
- Strength and stamina to work with heavy equipment and in awkward positions, including walking, lifting, twisting, turning, and climbing ladders.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Self-starting, organized, and capable of working independently or in a team setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight time constraints.
- Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, in any weather condition.
- Ability to read, interpret, and comply with written information such as safety rules, operation manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and/or alcohol test.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
