Key Responsibilities

You will be crucial to the reliability and safety of our entire plant operation. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Performing skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all stationary plant equipment, including crushers, screens, dryers, and conveyors.
  • Troubleshooting 480VAC-120VAC circuitry and equipment, with a willingness to advance your electrical skills through company-provided coursework.
  • Designing, fabricating, and welding new equipment or repair components, demonstrating competence in metal fabrication and electrical installations.
  • Reading technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to complete repairs and required reports accurately.
  • Operating a wide range of equipment, from plant process machinery and heavy mobile mining equipment to various hand and power tools.
  • Rigorously adhering to all MSHA regulations and site-specific safety programs, including the proper use of PPE like hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, and fall protection.
  • Performing general duties across the operation as needed, including mining, processing, packaging, and shipping of silica sand products.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment through thorough equipment inspections and by responding to after-hours callouts for urgent repairs.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified professional with a strong industrial background and the right mindset. The minimum qualifications are:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, metal fabrication, and troubleshooting within an industrial setting.
  • Previous experience with mining operations, preferably sand mining, and an understanding of related processing equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating heavy mobile equipment.
  • A deep, demonstrated commitment to safety with experience in identifying and managing workplace risks.
  • The physical capability to perform all job duties, including lifting up to 75 lbs, working at heights, and in varied weather conditions.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
