Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing Housekeeping and Laundry operations, ensuring all areas consistently meet or exceed brand standards for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Manage departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls, balancing quality with financial responsibility.
  • Support the implementation of departmental targets, work schedules, budgets, and policies, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, reporting issues to the Executive Housekeeper and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Enforce all Housekeeping policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on health, safety, security, and hygiene.
  • Monitor team performance, providing coaching and feedback to uphold appearance, service standards, and teamwork.
  • Keep the team informed about room categories, amenities, and guest preferences to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper to maintain strong working relationships across all hotel departments and with external partners.
  • Adjust staffing levels to meet business demands, ensuring optimal coverage during peak periods.
  • Lead ongoing training and communication sessions to support team development and maintain morale.
  • Address performance issues in line with company policies, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Step into the role of Executive Housekeeper during absences, taking full responsibility for the department’s operations.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, resolving requests and concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications

A high school certificate or equivalent is required. Candidates must have previous housekeeping or laundry experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity within the hotel, leisure, or retail sector. Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills are essential. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems is required. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are critical. The ability to work under pressure, maintain impeccable grooming standards, and adapt to changing situations is essential.
