A convenient plaza operator located along Highway 401 in Port Hope is seeking dedicated overnight janitors and cleaners to join their team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform all basic cleaning inside and outside the building ensuring the plaza maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for travellers.
- Clean and disinfect all surface areas including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Clean restrooms thoroughly including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Pick up any trash and empty trash bins both inside and outside the building ensuring waste is properly disposed of.
- Set up, stock, and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies ensuring all tools are in good working condition and ready for use.
- Respond to employee or guest requests promptly and professionally maintaining a helpful and customer focused approach.
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests and support overall plaza operations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in restaurants, food service, retail, or similar environments as a cashier, barista, food preparation worker, customer service associate, sales associate, or team member is always valued but not required. More importantly, candidates should demonstrate values that align with the company’s core principles of teamwork, accountability, agility, innovation, integrity, and community partnership. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment are essential. Reliable transportation is required as public transportation is not available to the plaza location. Candidates must be able to work overnight shifts and be comfortable with the physical demands of cleaning work including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
