About the Role
This cross-functional position supports the team across peak seasons and covers planned staff leave, offering exposure to a wide range of tasks and equipment. No two days will look the same you’ll work across multiple workstreams, gaining experience in gardening, mower operations, and response and repairs work. Teamwork will be key to success, and your flexibility and positive attitude will make you an essential part of the local team. Key Responsibilities
As a Multiskilled Response Operator, you’ll work across multiple areas to ensure public spaces remain in top condition.
- Perform gardening and horticulture duties, including planting, pruning, and general grounds maintenance.
- Operate mowers across parks, reserves, and open spaces to maintain tidy, well-presented areas.
- Support response and repairs work, including reactive maintenance tasks as they arise.
- Assist across the wider team during busy periods and when covering annual leave.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone with a positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
Essential Qualities:
- A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to work across different duties.
- Strong work ethic and pride in delivering quality outcomes for the community.
- Comfort operating equipment or a willingness to learn.
- A full, clean driver licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles and tow trailers is highly desirable.
- In accordance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, the successful candidate will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred (But Not Essential):
- Experience in gardening, horticulture, mowing, or outdoor maintenance.
