PD10 Operator Required In Australia

MasTec Clean Energy and Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team. In this role, you’ll operate various types of heavy equipment including front end loaders, motor graders, excavators, dozers, scrapers, trackhoes, trenchers, and more to perform construction tasks such as land clearing, mass excavation, rough and finish grading, underground utility work, and wind project development. Key Responsibilities

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll play a critical role in executing construction tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate heavy equipment including front end loaders (4CY or greater), motor graders, excavators (20 ton class or larger), dozers, scrapers, tractor-pans, trackhoes, skid pans, PD-10s, trenchers, and applicable light and medium equipment.
  • Build level and-or extreme terrain, excavate land surfaces, and distribute and level earth using various pieces of construction equipment.
  • Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks.
  • Gather and load dirt, stone, equipment, materials, and waste products onto trucks.
  • Excavate trenches with proper slopes per OSHA standards.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and situations requiring immediate response.
  • Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines; fill out maintenance reports daily.
  • Travel to different jobsites on limited notice as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for an experienced operator with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in various environments.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three years or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety, following Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge and operation of various GPS systems.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy, follow set procedures, judge distances and slopes accurately, and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in structural fills, DOT, and other public and private entities.
  • Must be able to work in internal and external environments, adapting to varying weather conditions.

Schedule

  • Shift: Night shift and weekends as needed
  • Type: Full-time
