Key Responsibilities
As a Regional Conestoga Driver with Fraley & Schilling, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of specialized freight. Your core duties will include:
- Safely operating a tractor-trailer equipped with a Conestoga (rolling tarp) system on a dedicated regional route.
- Securing and tarping loads using the Conestoga system to protect freight from the elements, ensuring safe and damage-free delivery.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load securement.
- Adhering strictly to all hours-of-service regulations, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules.
- Maintaining accurate logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicating professionally and effectively with dispatchers, customer contacts, and the F&S support team.
- Managing your schedule to maximize productivity within the percentage-based pay model while ensuring timely home arrival each week.
Qualifications
We are looking for safe, reliable drivers who meet our high standards. The requirements to join our team are:
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
- A minimum of six (6) months of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- A clean driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OWI convictions in the past five (5) years.
- No record of drug-related criminal activity in the past five (5) years.
- Absolutely no history of drug or alcohol violations in a commercial motor vehicle.
- The ability and willingness to secure and tarp loads using a Conestoga system (training provided if needed).
- A strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Military experience is highly valued and encouraged.
