Electronics Technician Needed In Australia

A growing technical solutions provider is seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician to join their team in an Engineering Support capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity to dive into a mix of workshop tasks, technical support, and light field service, applying your electronic skills across the board. With the current Technical Manager moving up, this role offers a defined pathway for the right person to grow into Project Management. Key Responsibilities

You will be the operational linchpin, ensuring equipment reliability and providing top-tier support. Your key duties will include:

  • Performing equipment checks, testing, calibration, and firmware/software updates in the workshop.
  • Providing responsive phone and email technical support to both internal teams and external customers.
  • Fault-finding and repairing electronic controllers and systems, ideally down to component/PCB level.
  • Assisting with workshop assembly, managing warranty claims, and conducting goods-in inspections.
  • Maintaining workshop stock, registers, and adhering to all WHS procedures.
  • Providing occasional on-site technical support for commissioning, servicing, or repairs.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified, practical, and proactive individual. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A TAFE qualification in Electronics, Electrical, or a related field (a university degree is not required).
  • Proven practical experience in electronic-electrical fault finding and repair.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and light machinery.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, databases) and the ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A professional, reliable demeanour and the ability to thrive as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have (but not essential): Exposure to ISO Quality/Health & Safety systems, knowledge of process control, or familiarity with social media/marketing platforms.
