Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the owner, you will be the go-to expert for keeping packaging machinery operational. Your key functions will include:
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a range of packaging machinery (pallet wrappers, strapping machines, carton sealers) on customer sites.
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and services to minimise client downtime.
- Installing new machinery and providing professional customer training.
- Assisting the sales team with technical demonstrations of equipment.
- Undertaking some short-term intrastate travel (typically planned overnight trips).
- Maintaining clear communication with clients and the internal team.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and technically proficient individual with a strong customer focus. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven competency in troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical machinery.
- A working knowledge of PLC and PCB-controlled equipment.
- A strong affinity for mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
- A valid driver’s licence and openness to local and some intrastate travel.
- A full or restricted electrical licence is highly desirable (we can assist the right candidate in acquiring this).
- A forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
- Relevant experience as a Fitter, Technician, or Electrician in a comparable field service role is ideal.
