Key Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Rig Welder with Strike Group, you will be entrusted with critical welding tasks that ensure the integrity and functionality of energy infrastructure. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Performing high-quality welding on pipe spools and related components, with a constant focus on safety, quality, and production targets.
- Conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits on existing facilities and equipment.
- Monitoring material usage and reporting any discrepancies or issues.
- Working directly with Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Inspectors to ensure all welds meet required standards.
- Reading and interpreting isometric (“acorn”) drawings and other technical documentation.
- Maintaining excellent organization and time management to complete tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
This role requires a certified professional with a strong safety mindset and proven field experience. The mandatory requirements are:
- A valid Journeyman Welder certificate of qualification issued by the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
- A valid B-Pressure welding ticket and CWB certification.
- Current safety tickets: H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSTS, and Standard First Aid. Ground Disturbance and OSSA are preferred.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test.
- A valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
- Proven experience in oil and gas construction or facility maintenance is highly valued.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various conditions and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
