We are currently hiring a Laundry Attendant to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity no degree, certificate, or diploma is required, and previous experience is considered an asset but not mandatory. Training will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled linens, towels, and personal clothing by fabric type, colour, and level of soiling.
- Load and operate commercial washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.
- Measure and add detergents, bleaches, and other cleaning agents safely and accurately.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens for distribution to resident rooms, guest suites, or patient care areas.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or excessive wear and set aside those requiring special attention or retirement.
- Maintain a clean and orderly laundry work area, sweeping floors and wiping down equipment as needed.
- Transport clean and soiled linens to and from storage areas and collection points.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all infection control and workplace safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
What you need:
- No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is helpful, but we are happy to train someone with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow simple instructions in English and work independently once trained.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and pushing carts weighing up to approximately 23 kilograms.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a consistent on-site work schedule.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
What we prefer:
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in a commercial laundry, long-term care home, hotel, or similar setting is an asset.
