Key Responsibilities
You will be an essential part of our infrastructure team, with duties that keep our region connected:
- Safely operate and maintain a heavy combination (HC) truck to transport construction materials, equipment, and machinery to various work sites.
- Rigorously adhere to all road safety regulations, site-specific safety plans, and council operating procedures to ensure a zero-harm environment.
- Work collaboratively with construction crews, foremen, and other plant operators to ensure timely delivery of resources and support project timelines.
- Perform routine pre-start checks and basic maintenance on your assigned vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Assist with general duties on worksites as required, demonstrating flexibility and a strong team ethic.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current, unrestricted Queensland Class ‘HC’ Drivers Licence (Mandatory).
- A current Construction Induction Card (White Blue Card) (Mandatory).
- A minimum of two years’ proven experience operating plant and machinery at the HC licence class level.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong, inherent commitment to workplace health and safety.
- While not essential, a Traffic Controller Licence and Traffic Management Implementation Qualification are highly regarded.
