About the Role
This is a term, on-call position where you will provide vital retail and customer service at the local post office. You will be called in as needed to cover shifts, offering a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will reside in or near 70 Mile House to ensure availability. You’ll join a team dedicated to connecting Canadians, handling everything from selling stamps to helping resolve delivery inquiries, all within a trusted national institution.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be the helpful point of contact for customers, managing daily postal operations.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service at the retail counter, selling postal products and services.
- Process financial transactions accurately, including cash, debit, and credit.
- Sort, distribute, and organize incoming and outgoing mail.
- Provide customers with information, forms, and assistance regarding postal services and rates.
- Help address and resolve customer questions or concerns about mail delivery and service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
Qualifications We’re Looking For
We are looking for candidates with a solid foundation in service and a proactive attitude.
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency is required.
- Experience in a retail, customer service, or public-facing role involving cash transactions.
- Good understanding of basic accounting or point-of-sale systems.
- Must be physically fit to lift containers up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform sorting tasks.
- Must be flexible and available to work on an on-call, as-needed basis.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Note: Preference will be given to candidates residing in the community of 70 Mile House.
