Key Responsibilities
Cleaners in this role are responsible for ensuring Shire facilities and public spaces remain hygienic, safe, and well maintained.
• Keep Shire buildings, community facilities, and public amenities clean, safe, and welcoming
• Follow structured housekeeping and cleaning schedules to complete tasks efficiently
• Perform occasional ad hoc duties and activities to assist and support the broader Shire team
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures while performing indoor and outdoor cleaning tasks
Qualifications
Successful candidates typically demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Previous experience in cleaning or facility maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, or willingness to learn
• C Class Driver’s Licence
• Ability to work outdoors in hot weather conditions and tolerate physical tasks
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to workplace responsibilities
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
