Key Responsibilities
Disability Support Workers play a vital role in assisting clients with daily tasks and encouraging independence.
• Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities
• Support clients with safe manual handling and hoist transfers
• Assist with CPAP setup and monitoring during sleep or rest periods when required
• Support mobility and transfers following safe handling procedures
• Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and laundry
• Encourage client participation in community activities and promote independence
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow individual care plans
• Ensure client safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
Qualifications
Successful candidates are typically compassionate, reliable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with manual handling and hoist transfers
• Experience or willingness to learn CPAP support
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field is desirable
• Previous experience in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment is preferred
