Key Responsibilities

You will be entrusted with some of the most critical and technically demanding transport tasks in the industry.

  • Safely load, secure, and unload a wide variety of over-dimensional and over-mass machinery and equipment, adhering strictly to the NTC Load Restraint Guide.
  • Plan and execute the transport of complex loads, managing all statutory permits, route surveys, and operating conditions.
  • Operate a range of low-loader trailers and, when required, tow general trailers up to triple road train configurations.
  • Conduct meticulous pre-start checks, complete all operational paperwork accurately, and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of road transport legislation, including mass management, fatigue management, and specific heavy vehicle requirements.
  • Commence as a Pilot Driver as part of our structured pathway, progressing into a dedicated Low Loader operator role.

Qualifications

This role requires a specific and proven skillset in heavy haulage.

  • A current MC Driver’s Licence is essential.
  • Substantial, proven experience within the heavy haulage division, with specific experience transporting over-dimensional equipment.
  • 50-ton or 100-ton experience is highly valued.
  • A sound, practical knowledge of road transport legislation, permit requirements, and load restraint principles.
  • A mechanically minded aptitude for completing vehicle maintenance checks and understanding equipment.
  • A professional, safety-first attitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously on complex jobs.
